1. Please use the various Benzo Websites for relevant medical information.
2. This is not the place to recommend other types of psychotropic drugs. To do so will put you at risk for being unsubscribed. As a support network for those who want to end benzodiazepine dependency/addiction and recover from the withdrawal syndrome, we do not feel that telling someone to use another dependency-causing drug is the answer to the problem.
3. We know of no supplements that help everyone with benzo withdrawal. Some people withdrawing and recovering from benzodiazepines can be extremely sensitive to any of these products. This sensitivity may cause a dramatic increase in withdrawal symptoms that can put some people over the edge. Therefore, we do not allow blanket recommendations of supplements and we do not allow the promotion of name-branded supplements or so-called superfoods.
3. Please be respectful of the opinions of other group members. Remember that everyone has his or her own experiences and viewpoints. Remember that others are here for the same reason as you. Feel free to raise issues and concerns, ask for assistance, and support one another.
4. Please no Religious or Political discussions on the board.
5. Treat everyone with respect. Many in this group are extremely sick and therefore the slightest comments can be upsetting.
6. Mild expletives are allowed, but strong vulgar language, crude or explicit sexual references, are not. Ask yourself if this is something that you would say in a room full of people you never met, or in the workplace.
7. Good judgment is important, especially when you encounter the opinions of others. If you disagree with someone's point of view, argue ideas rather than attacking individuals. Individually aimed insults or threats that cause any member to feel discomfort will not be tolerated.
8. There are a number of other support groups available on the Internet that help support people off benzodiazepines. Each group has an owner and its own philosophy and rules. If you disagree with another group’s philosophy, rules, personalities, decisions or advice please do not discuss them on this group. It is not a productive use of time to have groups fighting against each other.
9. Take personal disputes to private e-mail, please.
10. If any person somehow succeeds in joining this group under fraudulent misrepresentation, they will be unsubscribed immediately.
11. The moderators reserve the right to terminate any discussion that is adversely affecting the best interest of the group and its members. This will be achieved by putting members involved in the discussion on moderate and dealing with the situation off line; if the situation is deemed serious enough this will be done without prior notice.
If you are found to be in violation of any of the above rules - you may be immediately removed from the group without warning.
